Julien Langou, who is Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at the University of Colorado Denver, spent a month in July thanks to an INRIA visiting professor grant.
Julien's expertise lies in numerical linear algebra, Krylov subspace methods and dense linear algebra on emerging platforms; he is co-PI of large NSF award on this latter topics. During his one month visit, Julien collaborated with HiePACS members on ongoing research related to the iterative solution of linear systems with multiple right-hand sides and communication avoiding algorithms under study for PLASMA. The new results of the former subject will be reported in joint paper co-authored by researchers from HiePACS, CERFACS and EADS-IW with applications to the radar cross section calculation in electromagnetism.
